LOOKING INTO THE MIRROR
Part 2

What do you see when you look in the mirror? Do you like who you see, or do you see flaws and
imperfections? Feeling overwhelmed can lead to people to have a negative self-image of
themselves. When they do not achieve results, they will begin to suffer from a lack of self-worth
and believe that they do not deserve success. They dig themselves deeper into self-loathing and
despair.
Believe it or not, being overwhelmed can begin to not only affect you negatively in the mind, but
it can also affect your body in a negative manner as well. You will begin to feel worn out,
fatigued and depressed, without even doing anything at all. You’ll feel as if you need sleep more
and often or that you are tired and need to relax even when you haven’t done a thing all day.
You’ll become lazy, uninterested in activities you have always loved to participate in and feel
lack of motivation.
Making a simple to-do list can be life-changing. Cross of each item on your list as you
accomplish it. If you’re particularly overwhelmed by the twenty things you have to accomplish
by noon, write down every little thing. For example, if you need to make your lunch write it
down on your to-do list and after completing it, check it off as completed. After you get through
your Monday morning meeting, check. Task accomplished! It may sound unnecessary, but by
accomplishing and crossing those important tasks off of your list, you’ll feel like you’re being
proactive with everything you set out to do in an effortless way.
Got time?
There’s 24 hours in a day, so hop to it! If you wait for extra time to appear, you might lose out at
the game of life. Through the right time management, you can “create” the time you need, and
not just wait for it to come. By planning your time wisely, you will find that you have more time
to do more things.
Time management will allow you to not only complete each task as it arises, but anticipate
unforeseen problems before they arise. With proper time management, you will be able to make
conscious, mindful choices, so you can spend more time doing the things that are most important
and valuable to you.
