Part 3

Imagine a life that allows you to have more free time while getting more done. When you use
your time wisely, you’ll be able to do more in a shorter period of time, and accomplish more
with less energy. You’ll become more creative and resourceful. You’ll have more balance in
your life, and the motivation to experience new opportunities as they arise.
Do you make conscious choices in life, or mindless ones? Do you allow external distractions to
deter you from your goal, or do you use willpower and self-discipline to guide you toward your
goal with focus and without wasting time and energy?
There are many things you can do in order to manage your time effectively. There is a lot of time
wasted each day, which can be put to better use. There are changes you can make, which will
free up your otherwise busy day.
Do you want more time to paint, read to your children, go for a jog or have uninterrupted “me”
time by simply doing nothing at all? Try the following suggestions and transform into a
productive superhero, rather than feeling like the average Joe.
• Use a day planner. Write out each and every task you need to complete, from small,
routine to-do’s, to larger goals for the week. Cross them off as you complete them –
trust us! It will feel so good knowing your making headway, instead of burying your
head in the sand.
• Become clear about what’s important and what can be left alone. Sure, if you had
more than 24 hours in a day, it would be nice to get everything done that you’d like.
But you can’t make miracles happen (at least, not yet). Pick and choose what’s most
important to accomplish in a day or weeks’ time. Does cleaning the closet take
precedence over meeting Friday’s deadline?
• Devote time to your health. We’re not just talking about cutting out the fast food
and hitting the gym. Good health starts with your mind. It’s about finding some alone
time at the end of your busy day. The dishes are done and the kids are put to bed, eh?
Perfect. Now devote time to nurturing yourself. Take that bubble bath. Book a
massage for the weekend. Read the latest best-seller. As a result, you’ll sleep better
and become more productive for the days ahead.
